My Sci, Edgar, SS Facilitators

Started the day with a tour of the "Institute for school partnership" or "My Sci" center

They are located at 6601 Vernon Ave.

While there I met with Skyler Wiseman to discuss a partnership with Webster Groves and access to the My Sci Kits and truck.

also discussed piloting new kits in grade levels 345.

4/26 Edgar Road, Central Office, Edgar Road

I started the day at the volunteer breakfast at Edgar Road.

Spent the day at Central Office, we met as a coordinator team and discussed:

  • Curriculum template
  • Progress made and examples from every area of Essentials and scales
  • determined some common beliefs
  • I revised the K12 units I completed and the corresponding templates
At 3 I went back over to Edgar Road to:
  • Called around to find a space for a 5/7 meeting space
  • Prep for K-5 SS facilitator meeting, made agenda, copies, and presentation:

  • Sent email about NGSS division for Wednesday
  • Sent reminder to SS facilitators
  • Sent payment form to Science facilitators
  • Made MS SS folders
  • Recorded this video about How to sign up for Elementary Science Kits

Started the day at Steger for the Grade reporting conversation some of our highlights were:

Started the day at Hudson.

4/18 Bristol, Edgar Road, Mystery Skype, 7th Grade Science

Saw Kindergarten
where we watched a story using http://www.storylineonline.net


Stopped by 1st grade where their walking field trip to the "HUB" bicycle company was canceled due to weather.  They were enjoying some VERY dated Dare videos.

I then went to another Kindergarten room, we:
  • practiced our numbers and the date
  • went to station time
  • I played a math game where kids used blocks to count and subtract
  • I played in the technology station
  • I downloaded a learned how to play SpyMouseHD

I saw some great math activities in 2nd grade and helped a student through some tough two digit addition and subtraction.  It was hard for me too!

I watched a little of the WWII video in 5th grade

Saw a probability workshop in another 5th grade room.

I then went to music to play some drums and learn some music.  Here's what we played!

I then left and went over to Edgar Road when I arrived I found a corner of my office flooded.


I helped set up Skype for an interview tomorrow.

I Watched a Mystery Skype in 3rd grade.  Each kid had a job and was at a station:
 We skyped with students and asked only "Yes" or "No" questions.
 We had a backchannel discussion using todaysmeet to ask more detailed or follow up questions:
Used google maps and google Earth to eventually find their town!

Attended the 7th grade Science Meeting after school, where we discussed:
  • Glassware
  • Vertical Team
  • Summer Work
  • NGSS

4/17 WGHS, ETA, LMT

DAY OF MEETINGS!

Started the day at WGHS.  I met with the Assistant Principal to go over essentials, objectives, and proficiency scales.

I headed over to CO to meet with a couple of the staff to discuss ipad usage and help people through hurdles with their device.

I created covers for new teacher binders:




Afterwords headed over to CO to arrange the Board room for the ETA association meeting.

Started the day at Hixson,

I helped students load their games into a box truck

We took the box truck and two buses of students over to Avery for the Hixson Arcade.









Went back over to Edgar Road afterwords to work on:

  • Finalizing schedule for next week
  • Plan Hudson Vertical teaming
  • Work on Collaborative space
  • Emailed Clark about inventory day


Then met with Webster University Undergrads and prospective students as a part of a Alumni Panel.
