- Read Write Think has a great free tool: http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/timeline_2/
- Tiki Toki: Pretty advanced, but really beautiful: http://www.tiki-toki.com/
- One of my personal favorites: Time Toast: http://www.timetoast.com/
- Capzles- Quite simply one of the nicest timeline creation sites around, with a beautiful user interface as well as the ability to embed into a site.
- Time Rime - An excellent site with educational instance (great for teachers) that allows users to create multimedia timelines.
- TimeGlider - Great site that not only lets users create multimedia timelines butlegends as well. There is a "plus upgrade" in the works specificallyfor education.
- Dipity - Create beautiful timelines with the ability to add video/pictures.
- Preceden - A fun easy site to use to create interactive timelines.
- Timelinr - A very simple to use timeline generator that only displays text.
- Our Timelines - Create timelines by using preexisting forms (text only). - See more at: http://www.techlearning.com/Default.aspx?tabid=67&entryid=592#sthash.5Y1zMOkG.dpuf
- Softschools has a really simple too, great for primary grades!
Did you know you can also do the timeline right inside Microsoft word? Learn how to here.
